Rhinitis is what doctors call a runny, congested nose. When your runny nose is caused by allergies, you have allergic rhinitis, sometimes called hay fever. Conjunctivitis is when the lining around your eyes is red, swollen and very itchy. The first line of defense against allergies it to avoid the allergen. The use of Healthwise Soap and Sinus Bath help to remove the allergens on a daily basis.
What are Seasonal Allergies?
Allergies are related to the body immune system. The immune system protects our bodies from outside invaders such as parasites, bacteria and viruses. When the body senses that an invasion is occuring, it mounts a counter attack against the invaders called an immune response. In people with seasonal allergies, substances like pollen or mold can trigger a powerful immune response. The Healthwise program offers a drug-free approach to seasonal allergies.
What is Sinusitis?
Sinusitis is an inflammation of the sinuses, the air spaces in your head that connect with your nose. The membrane lining the sinuses swells up and blocks the sinus openings so the spaces can't drain. Poor drainage can lead to infection, pressure, pain, and sometimes fever. Sinusitis can also cause postnasal drip, which produce a cough, sore throat and bad breath. You may feel tired as well. Many things can trigger sinusitis: allergies, nasal polyps, or just a common cold. In order to reduce pressure and pain you first must encourage your sinuses to drain. The daily use of the Facial and Sinus Bath is an important part to maintaining open passageways.
